Queen Victoria Cape May Activities Summer 2020.

Last week we announced our reopening and outlined what we’re doing to keep you healthy and safe during your visit. To that end, we have assessed our operations and made changes that elevate our Cape May Bed & Breakfast’s already clean and enjoyable atmosphere. Highlights include the addition of hand sanitizer dispensers, “express check-in” protocols, sanitizing wipe dispensers, plus we have installed high-efficiency HEPA filters in each room.

That being said, all amenities so cherished by Queen Victoria guests are still available for your enjoyment. Plus, this spring we think you might especially enjoy these Cape May activities.

  • Bicycling
  • Beach-going
  • Birdwatching

Cape May Bike Riding:

At The Queen Victoria, we offer complimentary bicycles for our guests to share. Take advantage of several bike paths in Cape May including the Cape May Promenade, Wildwoods Bike Path, Cape May Shoreline, and Cold Spring Bike Path. For leisurely rides, try Sunset Boulevard as it offers a wide shoulder for cyclists and ends at Sunset Beach. More adventurous riders won’t be disappointed either: you can take a bike-friendly road all the way to Green Creek—an hour-long route one way, about 11 miles up the coast. Other routes like a trip to Cape May Point—perhaps with a detour into the bike-friendly Cape May Point State Park—and the state’s Explore the Jersey Shore by Bicycle series are also popular options.

Cape May Beach-going

Cape May is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Due to our proximity to the ocean, guests may choose to walk rather than drive, however, free parking can be found on side streets along most Cape May beaches. Please keep in mind Cape May beaches are currently only open for walking, running, exercising, surfing and fishing. We’ll keep guests updated as to when beaches open for all activities.

Cape May Birdwatching

Cape May birdwatching is a fun and inexpensive opportunity to learn about birds, their migration patterns, feeding preference, behaviors, songs, and more. You can watch with binoculars, take pictures and video, or simply watch with a naked eye. Birdwatching is great for people of all ages and skill levels. Make it a rigorous hike, or leisurely outing. You may spot:

  • Heron
  • Egret
  • Laughing Gulls
  • Scarlet Tangers
  • Prothonotary Warblers
  • Yellow Warblers
  • Osprey
  • Yellow-breasted Chats
  • Peregrine Falcon
  • Bald Eagle
  • Red-Tailed Hawk

We’re so excited to welcome you back to the Queen Victoria this spring. We’re confident that the many changes we’ve made will facilitate a healthy and safe environment in which to thoroughly enjoy your visit. Plus, all the special things that make the Queen Victoria an excellent Cape May Bed & Breakfast remain.
