Cape May Beaches

Things to do in Cape May

Cape May, New Jersey is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Beach enthusiasts are sure to fall in love with our Cape May beaches such as Higbee Beach, Sunset Beach and Poverty Beach. Our beach visitors enjoy the clean, never over-crowded atmosphere, beautiful water and groomed sand.

Due to our close proximity to the beach, guests may choose to walk to the beach and leave their vehicle parked at the property. The Queen Victoria provides off street parking for six of our suites as well as nearby un-metered parking just a few blocks from the inn. Metered beach parking is available along the street, however free parking can be found along smaller side streets along most Cape May beaches.

The Queen Victoria offers complimentary bicycles and beach chairs, however if there is something you might need, additional beach gear is available to rent which can be delivered straight to The Queen Victoria at Geared Up Rentals.

There are not public lockers or showers in Cape May on the beach. If it is an item you do not want to carry with you, it is recommended to keep at The Queen Victoria or in your vehicle.

Food and drinks are allowed on the beach, so you’re welcome to bring a cooler or visit one of the vendors selling refreshments along Beach Avenue. Alcohol is prohibited. You’re also welcome to bring a beach umbrella, beach canopy, or beach tent for daytime relaxation.

While lifeguards are on staff to protect Cape May swimmers and surfers during the summer season until 5:30 pm daily, after September 8th, lifeguards are no longer on duty again until the summer season.

We hope you’ll enjoy a visit to the beautiful and relaxing beaches as part of your stay in our accommodations.
