Cape May Movies on the Beach: 2015 Lineup
Summer Events in NJ
Published on July 14, 2015
Every summer, Cape May offers free evening entertainment on the beach through its Movies on the Beach series. The annual series kicks off in July and runs through August with showings on Thursday evenings.
Just a five-minute walk from our front door, you can head over to the stretch of beach near the Convention Hall with a beach chair or blanket and enjoy some classic and family-friendly films! You’ll know you’re in the right spot when you see the blow-up movie screen and a great thing about these events is that you don’t need to have beach tags!
Beach tags are required when visiting Cape May’s beaches from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Tags are necessary between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Movies on the Beach begins at 8:30 p.m. We highly recommend a nice walk along the beach at sunset to secure a great viewing spot for both the amazing sunsets and for the movie!
A highly popular film screened on the beach is JAWS and the movie makes the lineup every year! Trust us, one look at the ocean the next morning and you’ll be back in the water. For 2015, the lineup includes:
• July 16 – Field of Dreams
• July 23 – Hook
• July 30 – JAWS
• August 6 – Elf
• August 13 – Spaceballs
• August 20 – Karate Kid (the 1984 version)
• August 27- Back to the Future
Cape May’s Movies on the Beach is a fun and carefree way to spend a Thursday evening in our beautiful city, especially after a nice dinner out. Anna Marie and I hope to see you at the beach!
