Cape May Music Events
Live Music in New Jersey
Published on April 30, 2015
You could think you’re hearing everyone singing for joy for being in beautiful Cape May, but the truth is our town gets quite musical in May with the arrival of two music festivals.
The first is the Cape May Music Festival that’s running from May 24 – June 11, 2015. During its more than two week run, you can listen to everything from chamber ensembles to symphonies with a few performances offering free admission.
In its 26th year now, the Cape May Music Festival brings renowned music stylings together in one harmonious festival. The festival is hosted by the Cape May Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities and tickets may be purchased on their website, at the Washington Street Mall Information Booth, or at the Physick Estate.
For those that prefer a more intimate setting, we recommend the Bach’s Lunch at the Carriage House Café & Tearoom at the Emlen Physick Estate, where you can enjoy lunch while members of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony perform. The Bach’s Lunch is offered on Wednesdays starting May 27 and ending on June 10.
The other lively music event proves that Cape May really does have all that jazz through hosting the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival on May 29 through May 31, 2015.
A cultural experience in itself, the Exit 0 Jazz Festival has brought together award-winning and emerging artists in Cape May to perform jazz, blues, R&B, and soul music. The Exit 0 Jazz Fest is a bi-annual event, though we’d be more than happy to host you at The Queen Victoria should you wish to make it to both festivals this year.
The May version does include performances at outdoor venues and the very fun Jazz Under the Stars Series, so you don’t have to miss out on enjoying the beauty of Cape May while you listen to soulful music.
If you wish to pick and choose the concerts you want to attend, there are individual tickets for the performances but if you want the full festival experience, a Pop’s Pass is only $45. To order tickets you may visit the website and purchase a pass online or you may call the Ticket & Information line at 609-849-9202.
Cape May is the destination this May for music-minded people and The Queen Victoria is the destination of choice for Cape May visitors! We hope to welcome you to our bed and breakfast next month.
