This year’s Cape May 4th of July festivities are just around the corner and we can’t wait! Cape May is a fantastic place to celebrate America’s birthday. In fact, most agree that July is the best time to visit Cape May. With fireworks displays, parades and good old-fashioned summertime fun, Cape May is your must-visit spot for Independence Day 2018.
Independence Day Parade
This year, the Cape May 4th of July Parade is on July 7th. Scheduled for 1:00 pm, the parade takes place along Beach Ave. Here, you’ll see vintage cars, festive floats and live performances by local musicians. Read more about event details here.
Cape May City Fireworks
Cape May 4th of July fireworks display takes place at Congress Beach on July 4th. The show begins at 9:00 pm and includes an hour of dazzling fireworks. Enjoy fantastic views of the show from the beach, promenade, or any property facing Beach Avenue.
In the event of rain, fireworks may be rescheduled or canceled.
If traveling by car, plan to arrive early as parking can be hard to find. Be prepared for traffic. Once the fireworks are over, Beach Avenue and the promenade may be congested.
Lower Township Fireworks
If you’ll be bayside, look for fireworks the day before or after Cape May City’s display. Pick a spot on the beach. Don’t forget a chair or towel since the sand can be chilly after sunset! There are vendors galore and carnival rides, too. It’s crowded, so expect to park and walk a couple of blocks.
