Another 4th of July celebration is almost here and we can’t wait. Cape May is a fantastic place to celebrate America’s birthday. In fact, if you are wondering when the best time to visit Cape May is, this may be it! Fireworks shows, parades and good ol’ summertime fun is what you will find every year here in Cape May. Independence Day Parade
Everyone loves a parade and this is one not to miss. This year’s parade, held Saturday, July 1st at 1:00 pm, will take place along Beach Ave. Watch festive 4th of July floats drift by, enjoy live music from various bands, and take in some fun, vintage cars as they cruise the avenue. Live Music at On The Rocks
Following the parade on July 1st, head on over to On The Rocks for some outdoor entertainment. From 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, it’s No Shower Happy Hour. From 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, you’ll enjoy Amy Faden. An afternoon of beautiful breezes, colorful sunsets and live entertainment dockside sounds like a great way to celebrate Independence Day!
Historic Cold Spring Village Celebration
Enjoy an Independence Day celebration at the historic Cold Spring Village. Spend the weekend celebrating all things American. Held Saturday and Sunday, July 1st and 2nd from 10:00am to 4:30 pm, you will enjoy a great variety of family events, music and other historical programs. You will even have the chance to take in the restored buildings in the village and learn about trades and crafts of early Americans. Our country’s birthday is the perfect time to brush up on the history of our incredible nation and Cold Spring Village is a great place to do so.
Concert and Fireworks at the Cape May Ferry Terminal Lawn
The celebrations don’t end there! How about a free concert at the Cape May Ferry Terminal lawn? Bring your blankets and chairs and your friends and family for an evening filled with live music. And the best part, this concert is free. Music by Jumper starts at 6:00 pm on July 3rd and
is followed by an incredible fireworks show. Happy Birthday America!
Carnival at Congress Hall
Nothing says “America” like a carnival! The grounds at Congress Hall transform into a carnival perfect for the entire family. Complete with face painting, balloon art, delicious snacks and treats, you will have an evening full of good times, fun festivities and even a few belly laughs. Held Monday, July 3rd from 5:30 pm-9:00 pm, you will want to add this event to your Independence Day celebration “to do” list.
Dinner and Fireworks
If you haven’t watched a fireworks show from a lighthouse before, then this is a must! Held on both July 3rd and 4th, you will have the opportunity enjoy fireworks from the top of the Cape May Lighthouse. Before the show, you and eleven others will fuel yourselves with a five course dining experience from Chef Lucas Manteca at Cape May Point’s Red Store. Fireworks Extravaganza
And now, for the main event…the annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza at Congress Beach. The show begins at 9:00 pm and is a full hour of oohs and ahs. Get there early to find the perfect place for you to settle in and watch the show.
