Cape May Lunch & Learn Series: 2017 lineup
Cape May Lunch & Learn Series: 2017 lineup
Published on January 13, 2017
A major part of Cape May’s charm is its preservation of history and its unique culture and a lot of that preservation is done through the Cape May Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC).
Each winter, and into early spring, the Cape May MAC hosts a wonderful array of informative talks at the Carriage House at the Emlen Physick Estate with its Lunch & Learn Series. These lunch hour sessions cover art, culture, history, and science topics and are only $5 for non-members and free for MAC members! Bring your own lunch, admission includes beverages, and learn about influential moments and people of our past.
The series kicks off on January 18 and wraps up on March 29. The 2017 series has a focus on Victorian themes, music, and politics.
2017 schedule:
- January 18: Music of the Big Band Era
- January 25: Victorian Inventions and Innovations
- February 1: The History & Evolution of our Political Parties
- February 8: From Captain Mey to Today
- February 15: Cape May Oddities
- February 22: An Afternoon with Gershwin

- March 8: The Victorian Woman: Shedding the Cocoon

If you’ve enjoyed the Lessons of History lecture in the fall or just enjoy history in general, you must plan to attend at least one of these informative sessions this winter. Of course we’d be delighted to have you stay with us at The Queen Victoria, where you can take in the stunning antiques in your room and throughout our bed and breakfast
