Can’t you just picture yourself in one of these good looking chairs, enjoying a glorious day on Cape May’s beautiful beach?
The weather has been incredibly nice this summer (really, we’re not getting all the rain that so many of you have experienced a little north of us!), and breezes like the one moving the towel in this picture are keeping us all nice and cool.
If you are lamenting the fact that you haven’t been able to get to Cape May for a wonderful summer visit to The Queen Victoria,
and were afraid it was too late, I’m pleased to share some wonderful news with you. Believe it or not,
we still have some very nice openings in the next several weeks for you to take advantage of.

Best of Cape May 2018
Yes, it is that time of year again. Each August CapeMay.com sponsors a “Best of Cape May” contest, asking Cape May visitors
to rank their favorite places in Cape May.
For the last 10 years, our fabulous guests (that is YOU!) have turned out to vote for The Queen Victoria, awarding us this
prestigious title each and every year.
Will you please help us to claim the title for the 11th time?

It is easy and fun to cast your ballot. They require you to vote for at least 10 different “favorites” in Cape May, in
all kinds of categories. Voting will surely be like a virtual return to Cape May to you as you relive your last visit.
In the past, there were several different categories that The Queen Victoria was ranked “Best”. This year they’ve changed
things a bit, and the only one that makes sense to vote us for is “Best Bed & Breakfast” (they’ve eliminated “best customer service”, “best romantic getaway”, “best girlfriend getaway”, etc.). We’re disappointed that you won’t be able to rank us best in all
of those categories again this year, but we’ll be thrilled and very grateful if we can once again take top honors in the remaining (and most important) category.
Voting runs through August 26th, but if you’d like to participate, please don’t wait. These summer days seem to slip by
at an amazing clip.
Thanks for the last 10 years, and hopefully for this year too!

Room of The Month
Lord Melbourne
|
|
|
Anna Marie and I are very excited to announce the opening of our brand new room, called Lord Melbourne.
This is a wonderful and beautiful room which is already one of the most popular rooms at The Queen Victoria. Looking at
the pictures to the right, I’m sure you can understand why. Believe it or not, the photos, as nice as they are, don’t truly do it justice.
Lord Melbourne is a 1st floor room located in the House of Royals building, where our former dining room was. It is a large,
comfortable room, with a king sized bed, and dramatic decor. It has a comfy full sized sofa at the foot of the bed, which is perfect for viewing the very large 49″ Flat panel TV above the dresser.

The bathroom is wonderful too, featuring a 2-head/2-person shower, a large granite vanity counter, and a wonderfully private
“water closet” (separate room for the toilet) tucked behind a pocket door.
Because many of our guests who favor first floor rooms have issues with stairs, and our House of Royals pantry is on the
second floor, we’ve also included a Keurig in the room, along with a mini fridge stocked with all of our standard beverages.

One of the most special features about the Lord Melbourne room is its private porch (you might recall eating on this porch
when the space was still our dining room). Step onto the porch and you’ll enjoy the privacy of a lattice enclosure, a wonderful porch swing, and a pair of rocking chairs. We’ve even put a bistro table on the porch which seems like the perfect place to chill
a bottle of champagne for a romantic evening on the porch.
