I
think that we’re all pretty excited that Spring is here. Though we actually had a pretty mild winter, especially here in Cape May, the blooms of Spring are always welcome, along with the longer and warmer days.
Spring is a wonderful time in Cape May, filled with all kinds of fun events and great reasons to come for a stay at The Queen Victoria. I’ll be telling you about all of these things in the following
sections of our newsletter. In fact, many of our most frequent guests have discovered that the lower rates, smaller crowds, and bountiful activities & events make Spring a great time to visit Cape May.
We’re always happy to assist you

Wow,
this is two newsletters in a row where I’ve been able to share a completely remodeled room with you! Don’t get too used to it, as this is the last remodel for the year.
I’m afraid that this photo doesn’t really do the room justice, as it is a quickie i-Phone photo I took to tide us over until our photographers return
in April.
The inspiration for remodeling Chelsea started with a leak in the tub that we could not repair. Since our designer happened to be in town at that time,
we took the opportunity to completely renovate the room, giving it a new look as well as a new bathroom. As you can see from this photo, we’ve replaced the wallpaper with a soothing, comfortable paint color. We’ve also installed new carpet, new window treatments
and new bedding. What you can’t see is the amazingly comfortable leather loveseat or the magnificent new bathroom. The bathroom now features an enormous step-in shower, a gorgeous, large quartz counter top, and some wonderful custom shelving space for the
refrigerator, room safe, charging station, with plenty of room left over for you to store all your toiletries.
What didn’t change about Chelsea is the serene, peaceful, and private feeling you get when you step into the room. The charming little “Pocket Porch”
is still there too, which is visible through the open door in this photo.

Discount
Packages at The Queen Victoria
The Savings Season
The savings season is still in full swing here at The Queen Victoria, but it is winding down. We’re still
offering our guests great discount packages in a couple of different ways. If you need a visit to The Queen Victoria, and want to save a lot of money, then this is the time to do it! Don’t
delay, though, as time is running out.
222 Discount Package
Through April 27, excluding holidays, we are offering two nights in a standard room for $222 (plus tax), for reservations Sunday through Thursday evenings. The “222 Discount” can be expanded to a 333, 444 or even 555 for 3,4 or 5 night reservations. Upgrades
to larger rooms are also possible with similar savings. If you’re able to travel mid-week, this is a fantastic deal!
Winter Escape(Last Chance!)
Yes, this discount package, which features ANY two nights in a large standard room, a complimentary cheese tray and a complimentary wine tasting for two for $325 (plus tax). This package was originally scheduled to end after the fourth weekend of March, but
Anna Marie and I just decided to extend it through Saturday, April 1st (no fooling). Since we just did that about a week ago there happens to be plenty of availability left for that weekend!
This is a great opportunity for those of you who are limited to weekend travel, and are looking to enjoy discount savings on a beautiful Spring weekend.
Like the “222”, upgrades are possible for premium rooms and luxury suites with similar savings.
These discount packages cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotions. Third Party gift certificates (like bedandbreakfast.com)
cannot be used for payment.
There is no bad time to visit The Queen Victoria, and when you consider these great discounts, the cooler months of the year become very attractive.
I hope you’ll be saving lots of money on your next reservation at The Queen Victoria.

Our
Last Birthday Weekend
As I write this, we are setting up the dining room for our March Birthday party, which leaves you just one more chance to join in one of our 2017 Birthday
parties.
If you or your loved one are looking for a fun way to celebrate your April birthday, and an excuse to escape from the house and chores for the weekend,
this is your chance!
It is always a fun afternoon, celebrated during Afternoon Tea. We bake a big birthday cake, we have gifts for everybody, we sing Happy Birthday to anyone
that it applies to, and a good time is had by all. We won’t be checking IDs, so you’re welcome to participate and join in the fun even if you aren’t celebrating a birthday in that month.
Tip: April 22 is also the date of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival!

Singer
Songwriter Cape May
Each March Singer Songwriter Cape May returns to Cape May, bringing with it an amazing lineup of musical talent. This March they’ll
be featuring over 150 musical performances in 17 different venues all over Cape May. The event showcases Singer/Songwriters of all genres. The best part is that you can attend most of the performances for FREE!
For the last 2 years, one of the event’s perennially most popular performers, and a good friend of ours, Avi Wisnia (pictured here on the right), performed an exclusive concert for the guests of The Queen Victoria. It was a great performance and a good time
was had by all. We put out a nice buffet of hors d’oevres, many guests brought bottles of wine, and everybody enjoyed themselves immensely. Avi has graciously offered to perform for us again this year, so we’re doing it all again! On Saturday March 25 we’ll
turn our regular afternoon tea into a concert reception. I know it is going to be another great event. I hope I’ll get to see you there (here). Once again, this concert is free for all guests staying at The Queen Victoria that weekend.

Exit
Zero Jazz Festival
Twice each year The Exit Zero Jazz Festival brings world class jazz to Cape May. This year’s spring event has been moved up a month or
two, giving you another great excuse to visit The Queen Victoria at a really beautiful time of the year.
Spring will be in full swing by then, of course, with blooms abounding everywhere. The weather will most certainly be turning in our favor
by then, and all your favorite shops and restaurants will be anxiously looking forward to your return.
But let’s get back to the music. This 3 day festival featuring 45 shows in venues all over town is truly becoming world renowned. There
are several different ticketing options for admission to the various shows, ranging from $30 for the Sunday Pass to $195 for the VIP Pass, with several options in between.
If you’re a Jazz fan, then you truly have to start making plans to attend this year’s Spring Exit Zero Jazz Festival.

The City of Cape May just released their summer 2017 concert series schedule and it looks to be another great summer of entertainment. As in past years,
I’ve heard of every single performer on this list of big stars. While most of them were big stars before my time, their music still resonates today.

-
July 12: Tommy James & The Shondells
-
July 19: Arlo Guthrie (with Special guest Sarah Lee Guthrie)
-
July 26: Jay & The Americans
-
July 31: Martha Reeves & The Vandellas
(this one is on a Monday!)
-
August 9: Aaron Neville
-
August 16: Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals
-
August 23: Mary Wilson of the Supremes (pictured above)
The shows all start at 8pm at the Cape May Convention Center.
