With the coming of Spring all thoughts naturally shift from the fear and dread of harsh winter storms and icy roads, to blossoming
gardens, and bright sunny (and longer!) days.
While every day of the year is beautiful in Cape May, Spring is especially gorgeous and exciting. The Spring season is filled
with events like the Cape May Spring Celebration, Exit Zero Jazz Festival, and Cape May Music Festival. This year it also brings with it the return of the Cape May Designer Show House. And, of course, it brings plenty of blooms.

Brighton

Many of our guests have discovered that Brighton is one of the best value rooms at The Queen Victoria. Being a standard
room, it is available at our very lowest rate, no matter the season. What makes Brighton such a value, however, has as much to do with its location as its price. Located on the 2nd floor of the very private Queen’s Cottage building, it is one of only two
guest rooms in

|
|
|
|
that section of the building. As such, the guests staying in the Brighton room have semi-private access to the beautiful
parlor and kitchen sized pantry located there (pictured at left). This is a lovely, quiet, and very comfortable space that only one other guest room has access to. If you time your reservation right, and that other guest room isn’t rented during your visit,
you have an amazing suite to enjoy for the price of a standard room. If you enjoy traveling with another couple and you rent both rooms, then your group has this wonderful private space to call their own during your visit to The Queen Victoria. This is an
increasingly popular option for many of our guests who love traveling with friends and family. Of course, you’ll still have access to all of the wonderful common spaces in our other buildings as well.

One of the unique things about Brighton is that its private bathroom is located just outside the entrance door to the room.
Personally, I’ve always found that to be a nice feature on a romantic getaway, separating the personal hygiene space from the bedroom.

The 234 discount is by far our most popular discount. This offer includes 2 nights, Sunday through Thursday, in a standard room for $234 ($117/night) November through April, with holiday weeks excluded. Though the discount is designed and priced for our more
modest standard rooms, similar savings are also available on larger, more elaborate rooms. This discount package is perfect for guests who are flexible in their schedules and can visit Cape May mid-week, during some of the most pleasant months of the year
in Cape May.
“Winter Escape” (Through March, 2018 … Ends THIS weekend!)
I’m pleased to announce that we are once again offering our “Winter Escape” discount package in 2018. This offer is for ANY 2 nights in a Large Standard room for $325. This is a great option for those seeking a great discount for a weekend stay at The Queen
Victoria. The Winter Escape package also includes a complimentary cheese tray and wine tasting.
Both of these packages can be upgraded to larger rooms at similar savings.

A few years ago we decided to throw a celebration weekend for one of Anna Marie’s significant birthdays. When it morphed
into a birthday celebration for all of our guests with birthdays in the month of March (yes, Anna Marie is a Pisces), we knew we had come up with a fun way to enliven a few weekends during our cooler winter and early spring season.
We’ve already had 3 wonderful birthday celebration weekends, and we’re looking forward to our final one in about a month.
If you or your loved one has a birthday celebration coming up in April (or even May!), why not celebrate in style at The
Queen Victoria. We’ll have cake, we’ll sing “Happy Birthday”, and we’ll even have party favor gifts for everybody attending our celebration.

Exit Zero Jazz Festival

Yes, that IS Chris Botti, who I’m pleased to say will be headlining the festival on Saturday, April 21. The rest of the performers
announced so far, though not as famous as Chris Botti, look to be a seriously talented group of musicians. I was tempted to post a photo of one of the other performers, Bria Skonberg, as

she is quite an attractive lady, but I didn’t want to upstage Chris Botti, who is one of my longtime favorite musicians.
Be sure to attend Ms. Skonberg’s concert that weekend, however, as she has a beautiful voice and an amazing command of the trumpet.
Exit Zero Jazz Festival has easily surpassed the old Cape May Jazz Festival that was a staple in Cape May for so many years.
In fact, the Exit Zero Festival is well on its way to becoming one of the premier festivals in the country.
Of course, one of the things that makes it special is that it is held in one of the most charming, interesting, and fun places
in the world … Cape May. What a wonderful excuse to plan a weekend in Cape May! I’ll be keeping you posted on the event as we get closer to it, but it is probably time to start making you plans to be in Cape May for this next event. The natural first step

Sip Into Spring Festival
Saturday, May 12 (new for 2018!)
This new one-day festival is part of the Cape May Spring Celebration. The sponsors of this festival, the folks at MAC,
invite you to join them in celebrating Spring’s rebirth with exciting outdoor gardening and nature demonstrations, live music, food, wine, beer, Bloody Marys and mimosas, crafts and collectibles, and more! Attendance is free, just pay for what you consume
(and the Chef Poon Demonstration).
