We’re already gearing up for another outstanding spring in Cape May. We’re so looking forward to welcoming you in the New Year.
At The Queen Victoria, stay in an exquisite Victorian room that embodies the many nuances of Victorian style and architecture. Here are our top three Queen Victoria Cape May rooms for 2021.
Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens is the largest of our standard rooms located on the second floor of The Queen Victoria building. With a wonderfully comfortable bed wrapped in premium ironed sheets and a plush quilt, it’s the perfect spot to rest and recharge in the New Year. This room is filled with period antiques including a lovely Victorian headboard, antique dresser, and an armoire. Its adjoining bathroom features a walk-in shower and a beautiful, large marble countertop. Charles Dickens is individually climate-controlled and offers a television with DVD player, mini-refrigerator, hairdryer, and an iron with ironing board.
Greenwich
A large premium room on the third floor of Prince Albert Hall, Greenwich is a favorite among photographers and innkeepers (including Doug!) alike. Its gabled roof and reading nook make Greenwich an exceptionally charming room. Plus, it boasts a very large bathroom with an over-sized whirlpool tub, cheery window seat, and a very large marble counter and sink. Last but not least, enjoy ocean views and marvel at the sunset over Cape May’s Victorian skyline. Greenwich also features Individual climate control, a refrigerator, TV with DVD player, hairdryer, and iron.
Gilbert and Sullivan
Gilbert and Sullivan, a two-room suite (priced as a large standard room), is one of the best values at The Queen Victoria. Enjoy a lovely sitting room with cozy love seat and handsome oak fireplace. Spend an evening here relaxing in front of the fire or write a postcard about your visit at the living room’s antique wicker desk. In the bedrooms, you’ll find a queen-sized bed with antique brass frame, plus a charming antique oak dresser and mirror. The room’s private bath features a large glass-enclosed hydro-massage shower. Open the windows on a breezy day and enjoy the wonderful cross-breezes wafting in from the ocean—it’s all a part of your stay. Individual climate control, television with DVD player, a mini-refrigerator, iron, and hairdryer are also included.
Recent Queen Victoria Updates
Those who visited this summer probably didn’t notice this beautiful solid mahogany storm door because it was open every morning for our “Safe Serve” breakfast service. It needed a bit of a facelift, so we took it down into our shop for a few days, stripped the old finish off, and gave it several new coats of varnish. As you can see, it’s now beaming with natural grain patterns, so beautiful and distinct to mahogany. It’s also a lovely compliment to the main door, which is typically open year-round and, again, probably overlooked by most guests. Be sure to take a look at both doors on your next visit to the inn.
As we embark on this new year, we’re looking forward to the upcoming hustle and bustle of a new season in Cape May. Come, stay with us in the New Year!
