Published on June 01, 2017
Cape May is a fantastic place for a summertime getaway. With so many things to do and events, Cape May is fun for everyone. And now beer lovers rejoice when they visit Cape May during the incredible Cape May Hops Festival. This free event, held the first official weekend of the summer season, is the perfect way to officially welcome summer.
Hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, the second annual Cape May Hops Festival will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 10am to 6pm. Enjoy blues, brews and barbecue at the beautiful Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May’s only Victorian house museum located at 1048 Washington Street. Spend the day at the Cape May Hops Festival enjoying live music, crafts and kids activities. Yes, the hops festival is a family-friendly event. So bring the whole family and make a day of it.
There are no admissions fees for this event, so you can focus on sipping beer featured from local breweries and fueling your tank with some tasty barbeque from Cape May favorites. Last year’s event featured beer from Cape May Brewery, Glasstown Brewery, Slack Tide Brewery and Tuckahoe Brewery. Delicious barbeque was provided by Captain Marriner’s, Crespella, Empanada Mamas and Joe Battle BBQ. You’ll have to be there to find out which food and beer vendors will be taking part of this year’s festival.
Music lovers, for a day full of boogieing, be sure to check out this fun line up:
10am-12pm: BS Blues Band
12pm-2pm: Bluebone
2pm-4pm: The BC Combo
4pm-6pm: The Bullets
For those who cannot make it to the hops festival this year, fear not. There are many other events you can attend this year. Or plan on attending the third annual Cape May Hops Festival. Next year’s date has already been set so you can start planning your getaway now. Mark your calendar now for June 23, 2018. We can’t wait to see you there!
