Cape May Tourism Information
Called the nation’s first seaside resort, Cape May offers you the opportunity to enjoy a legacy of architectural riches and natural features. Year ’round you can enjoy gingerbread gazing and seaside strolling. The beaches are bustling in the summer and romantic in the winter, with only the gulls for company. Below you’ll find helpful Cape May tourist information.
Stay at least two nights
We recommend a three or four night stay to experience Cape May’s diversity. In fact, on weekends and holidays minimum stays of two to four nights are in effect. Please inquire about the time of year you would like to visit.
A Mecca for Naturalists and History Buffs
Birders flock to Cape May Point to watch the spring and fall migrations. Cape May’s past as a whaling post is reflected in the sailing excursions and fishing boats docked at Cape May harbor. Tours by trolley or horse-drawn carriageintroduce you to our National Historic Landmark architecture and history.
Year ‘Round Entertainment
In the winter, spring and fall, the back roads of south Jersey beckon. We are happy to provide personally annotated maps showing you the best “shunpiking” to undiscovered villages and antique emporiums. Exploring is a pleasure in Cape May City as well as you discover the craft shops and art galleries on Washington Street, the gastronomic delights of the restaurants and bistros within blocks of The Queen Victoria®.
Christmas in Cape May
At Christmas, that very Victorian holiday, Cape May takes on a special glow. The Queen Victoria® is a cornucopia of old-fashioned customs and Yuletide spirits. The Queen Victoria® is centrally located for all the seasonal tours. Call to inquire about special December events.
